About
Global Broker Registry
A public lookup platform helping retail traders and investors verify whether a brokerage, forex firm, or investment company is genuinely registered with one or more of 12 global financial regulators.
Our Mission
Closing the information gap between retail investors and financial regulators.
Protect
Help retail investors avoid unlicensed or fraudulent brokerages by making regulatory data accessible and understandable.
Unify
Bring together data from 12 separate regulatory registers into one searchable platform & mdash; no more visiting a dozen different websites.
Inform
Provide independent trust signals β verification badges, trust scores, firm age, and user reviews β beyond raw registration data.
The Problem We're Solving
Retail investors are frequently targeted by unlicensed or fraudulent brokerages that falsely claim regulatory approval. Regulators publish their own registers, but they are:
- Scattered across a dozen different websites and formats
- Difficult for a non-technical user to navigate
- Not cross-referenced (a firm regulated in 3 jurisdictions requires 3 separate lookups)
- Not enriched with any independent trust indicators

Data Integrity
How firm records make it into the database.
Research
Our team identifies a firm's regulatory filings across all 12 jurisdictions. We collect registration numbers, status, and supporting documents from each relevant regulator.
Verification
Each registration is checked against the regulator's official register. Documents are reviewed for authenticity. Any discrepancies are flagged.
Entry
Verified data is entered into the database. Verification status, trust score, and firm age are set. Supporting documents are uploaded.
Ongoing Review
Records are periodically re-checked against official registers. Status updates (e.g., 'No Longer Authorised') are applied. Users can report outdated information.
What's Next
Planned improvements and expansions.
More Regulators
Expanding coverage to additional jurisdictions including Japan (JFSA), Hong Kong (SFC), and Germany (BaFin).
Public API
A read-only API for third parties to query firm data programmatically.
Watchlist Alerts
Notify users when a firm's registration status changes or new abuse reports are upheld.
Mobile App
Native mobile applications for iOS and Android with quick search and push alerts.
GBR is an independent information service and not a government regulator. Always verify critical information directly with the relevant regulatory authority.
